NOTE: Do not confuse this with the "users" section.
Although most of our time is spent agonizing over our desktop backgrounds, dicking around with trivial stuff, or planning world domination, we do *occasionally* make things. Oh yeah, we also work on our PhDs.
Finished & Maintained Stuff
- vitunes (website)
- A curses-based media playlist manager with vi-like keybindings. Similar to a certain GUI-riffic application used by many.
- phpSymon (website)
- A simple PHP package that can be used to query a symux server and parse+display the results.
- xstatbar (website)
- A simple stat's viewer showing info about CPU utilization, memory, number of processes, battery, volume, and time, for X. It integrates nicely with tiling window managers like scrotwm.
- xosd-clock (website)
- A minimalist digital clock for X that uses the xosd library. Can be configured using any string acceptible to the strftime(3) function.
- xosd-systat (website)
- A simple text-based display of some system stats X that uses the xosd library. Info displayed is CPU and memory usage, similar to what is shown in top(1).
- xosd-battery (website)
- A simple battery usage display for X that uses the xosd library. Shows if current power source is AC or Battery, and how much battery time is left (as a percent and a progress bar). All information is queried via sysctl(3)'s.
- find-sensor-mibs (website)
- An utlimately usesless (but perhaps instructional) program that displays the M.I.B's (Message Interface Buffers) for all attached sensors on OpenBSD.
In the Works...
Stuff we're (in)actively working on! Check back every few minutes for updates!!! OMGGZ!!!
- atalk
- Awesome Talk!, a talk(1) replacement that supports some additional features such as logging.
- fist
- A
finger(1)
&
fingerd(8)
replacement with some additional features.
Why finger someone when you can fist them!!! - libklingon
- Often in the labs and classes I teach, I use Klingon sayings for error messages... this is a simple drop-in file for many languages that has a single function that returns a random Klingon saying, always offensive.
